October On Our Farm

As the end of a strange, but beautiful season draws to a close, we reflect on an unusual summer on Our Farm and what is to come this autumn and winter.

The temporary closure of our restaurants forced us to find new ways to make use of the abundance of produce that came with the warm sunshine and our ever-growing farm. We were delighted to welcome many of the restaurant staff, from chefs to front of house, to help us manage the farm and harvest produce. It was a moment of togetherness during a time of desolation. We created veg boxes which were distributed in and around The Lakes. We set up an honesty box alongside plants and produce in Cartmel, and 'Simon Rogan at home' was born, using our produce to create delicious meals, prepared by our chefs, for people to enjoy from their homes.

Our beehive, relocated and expanded this summer, is thriving. You can follow it’s story here.

Read ‘At Our Core: Issue IIII’ for a recipe from Rogan: The Cookbook, using ingredients that are at their best right now.

Our Farm Grower Beth, also shares the stories of two special ingredients, thriving on Our Farm at the moment.
