Tasting Note
This is a ripe juicy style of Pinot Noir. The Meres 2018 saw a combination of used & new oak barrels to be aged in. The resulting wine is intensely aromatic, with aromas of fresh cranberries, red cherries, and lots of earthy characters too – mushrooms/truffles and cocoa. We particularly enjoy the palate, where the wine is light to medium bodied, has ripe juicy tannins, and a profile that just keeps on giving.
Food Pairing
This style of Pinot is a great addition to the dish of beetroots with their earthy characteristics, alongside that fresh acidity in the wine that pairs well with the goat’s curd also.
